Do I really need to wear sunscreen every day?
Yes, you really do! Applying sunscreen daily helps protect your skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, which can cause premature ageing, sunburn, and increase the risk of skin cancer. Even on cloudy days or when indoors, UV rays can penetrate windows and still affect your skin.
Does SPF in my makeup work?
Generally, makeup alone does not provide sufficient protection against UV rays, as people tend not to use enough product or reapply it throughout the day. In fact, you would need to apply at least 2 full fingers worth of product to get protection. It can add a bonus layer to your sunscreen but please don’t rely on it to protect against ageing.
Making sunscreen part of your daily routine is a simple step to maintain healthy skin, regardless of the weather or season. Look for a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a SPF 30 and remember to reapply if you’re spending extended periods outdoors.
What are Alumier MD Sunscreens?
Alumier MD sunscreens are advanced formulations designed to provide broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays, containing ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Alumier MD sunscreens are suitable for various skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin.
Do Alumier MD Sunscreens contain any other benefits as well as UV protection?
Yes, they also contain high quality antioxidants. These help to neutralise free radicals caused by the environmental factors.
What are the different types of Alumier MD sunscreens?
Alumier MD offers a range of sunscreens tailored to different skin needs and preferences. Some of the most popular options include:
- Clear Shield SPF 30: A lightweight, oil-free formula ideal for sensitive and acne-prone skin, providing broad-spectrum protection without leaving a white cast.
- Sheer Hydration SPF 30: Designed for normal to dry skin, this sunscreen is moisturising and available in both tinted and untinted versions for a natural finish.
- Moisture Matte SPF 40: Perfect for oily or combination skin, this mattifying sunscreen helps control shine while protecting against UV rays and comes in a selection of tints to suit different skin tones.
Why are Alumier MD sunscreens only SPF 30?
European Commission regulations don’t recognise SPFs between 30 and 50 as there is less than 2% difference in protection. It is also thought that applying SPF 50 gives a false sense of security and people don’t reapply.
